The Commerce Commission has decided to issue a Statement of Issues for the application from Foodstuffs North Island Limited and Foodstuffs South Island Limited seeking clearance to merge. New York has joined the list of states that allow pharmacists to dispense hormonal contraceptives without a prescription from a doctor. States began granting contraception-prescribing authority to pharmacists in 2016, when both California and Oregon passed laws allowing the practice.
